Frequently asked questions
Does the recipient know the document is tracked?
They are not shown a tracking notice by default, the same as every other document-tracking tool. DocPulse records that a link was opened and which pages were viewed. It never accesses the reader's device, camera, files, or identity beyond the email address you explicitly ask them for. If you want disclosure, turn on the email gate so opening the document is clearly an identified action.
What counts against my 3 free documents?
A credit is used the first time one of your documents is actually opened by someone, not when you upload it. So you can upload, preview, and delete drafts freely while you set things up. Deleting a document after it has been viewed does not give the credit back.
How is this different from just emailing a PDF?
An emailed attachment tells you nothing. You cannot tell whether it was opened, whether they read past page one, or whether it got forwarded. DocPulse gives you a link instead, so you know when to follow up and what to talk about when you do.
Can I stop a link after I have sent it?
Yes. Disable any link and it stops working immediately, even for people who already have the URL. You can also set an expiry date up front, or require an email address or password before the document will open.
Is my document private?
Your files are stored privately and are only reachable through the tracked links you create. We do not read your documents, and our analytics tooling is explicitly configured never to capture document contents or the viewer screen. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
What can I upload?
PDFs, up to 20 MB each. That covers the proposals, decks, contracts, and reports this is built for.
Do recipients need an account?
No. They click the link and the document opens in their browser. No signup, no plugin, no app.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Pro is 5 dollars a month with no contract, managed through the Stripe billing portal, and you can cancel in a couple of clicks. Your tracked links keep working while the subscription is active.
